Bravo Named Jasper’s Small Business of the Year

Nov 18, 2019 | News

Bravo Aviation/ Spectre Aeronautics was named Small Business of the Year in Jasper County by the Texas Forest Country Partnership at their annual Economic Summit in Lufkin on November 13.  The company, owned by the Boyette family, Kevin along with sons Ryan and Ross, provide a wide array of aviation services including fueling, airplane restoration and maintenance, and pilot services from their location adjacent to Jasper County’s Bell Field.  As Spectre Aeronautics, the company recently purchased the rights and equipment to manufacture and sell the P-85 and Radial Rocket airplanes.

From the company’s CEO, Ryan Boyette:  Spectre Aeronautics laid its foundation for growth in 2018 by opening an airframe restoration & paint facility.  With this foundation we have seen our customer base grow from the local area & Texas, to customers from all over the country & some inquiries from Europe about bringing us their aircraft for restoration.  We followed this up in August of 2019 by working with the Jasper Economic Development Corporation in acquiring the production rights and build assets to the P-85 & Radial Rocket aircraft lines from Altitude Group LLC in Overland Park Kansas.  We are currently working to establish our assembly line and composites shop to not only build and support these aircraft and those already flying, but also an R&D facility to expand this line of aircraft and offer composite & power plant services to other aerospace companies.  We currently have P-85 serial #1 at our facility in Jasper conducting flight operations and power plant development testing and have serial #2-4 spots sold.   We expect to begin production on our first new airframes in late first, or early second quarter of 2020.

Currently the company has 15 full-time employees with a projection to double that over the next 5 years.

The Texas Forest Country Partnership is a regional economic development organization that is committed to coordinating economic development-related activities in East Texas and further enhancing the appeal of the 12-county area that it serves.
