Drewery Construction took advantage of the first dry, sunny day in a while to pour lightweight concrete, creating the floor of the second floor in the new Provalus building in downtown Jasper. Using a high – powered pump transporting the concrete up and across the second floor, workers quickly spread out the mix and finish it.
Although the schedule has suffered many rain-days, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work has continued on the ground floor and the job is still expected to be completed in May. The 2-story building project is funded by Jasper United, the partnership between the City of Jasper and Jasper Economic Development Corporation. New to Jasper, Provalus offers IPO, BPO and Helpdesk services that compete head-on with offshore outsourcing. Currently they employ 70 area residents with intentions reaching 200 in the future.
