Aug 23, 2019 | News

Today, Jasper United voted to fund the building of a new headquarters for Provalus in downtown Jasper and to award the contract to Drewery Construction Inc. of Nacogdoches.   The new building will include restoring buildings on E. Houston at Main Streets and adding a second story.  The structure will provide space for up to 200 employees of the technology firm.  It’s estimated that the annual economic impact the headquarter location will have for Jasper is between $15 to $18 million.

Jasper Economic Development Corporation president Dan Walker said, “It’s been a while since Jasper has had an opportunity to get a new business here employing this many of our citizens. I’m proud and pleased that JEDCO and the city were able to work together to make this happen.”  Jasper’s mayor Gary Gatlin said, “JEDCO and the city worked very hard, first to win Provalus from the other Texas cities that were competing and secondly, today, finalizing the deal with this new building.”  “Provalus’s new headquarters will be great for our downtown and the new jobs will be great for Jasper,” he added.

Jasper United is a unique partnership between the JEDCO’s board of directors and the City of Jasper, represented by Jasper’s mayor and city council members The $3.4 million project is funded jointly by Jasper United with the City responsible for 70% and JEDCO 30%.

The new building projected completion is April of 2020.
